High-Major sophomores at NorCal Juco programs for the 2015-16 season
The 2015-16 season is loaded with talent. The Northern California programs have had major interest from some of the biggest conferences in the nation. In addition to the high-major interest, NorCal is also loaded with tons of mid-major and other Division 1 talent. The incoming freshman class is not to be dismissed as well. This could be the most talent I've ever seen at the Northern California ranks! Below is a list of some of the players who are earning high-major interest, or have already signed to that level. I am sure a few more will emerge once the season begins.
CaƱada College
- Crisshawn Clarke: The 6'4 sophomore who earned first-team all-tournament in the State Tournament last year has garnered Pac-12 interest. He has reportedly already taken a visit to the University of Oregon in addition to receiving offers from Pittsburg, St. Mary's and Nevada.
CCSF
- Jalen Canty: The imposing big-man has received an Atlantic 10 offer from Rhode Island, in addition to Tulsa and Colorado State.
- Trevor Dunbar: The speedy guard comes back to the Bay after a year at Washington State. Even though he hardly played for a team that finished 10th in conference, he still played for a Pac-12 school, which in my book is always high-major. We will see what kind of love he earns this season as he gets major minutes at the college level.
- Keondre Dew: Transferred in from the University of Tulsa after playing sparingly. He did earn offers from programs like Florida State, Oklahoma State and UCONN while in high school, so he is another potential high-major talent. We will see how his sophomore campaign works out after getting minutes at the college level.
Fresno City College
- Josh Sykes: The athletic 6'8 all-around talent has had major interest from some of the nation's top D1 programs after impressive showing in the fall showcase scrimmages. He has reportedly earned serious interest from programs like Kansas and Arizona. Looking forward to catching this young man in action this year!
Yuba College
- Jo Jo Zamora: The scoring guard has committed to the University of Utah. Playing in the Pac-12 at a school that finished 2nd last year is definitely high-major.
-Emmanuel Malou: The 6'9 forward has committed early. He will be sporting the Cyclones jersey in the Big-12 next year at Iowa State.
