Dulani Robinson back to CCSF

Dulani Robinson signed late this summer to play for UTEP after one stellar season at CCSF.  UTEPs luck seems to be running short as it is reported Robinson fell just short of being eligible as a transfer.  It appears Robinson will join CCSF for his sophomore year.  Tough luck for Robinson, but he's sure to find his way back at UTEP or another worthy program after his sophomore year.

Lassen College freshman McMahan signs scholarship to Academy of Arts University

Marshawn McMahan, a freshman from Lassen College has signed a scholarship with three years remaining to Academy of Arts University in San Francisco.  McMahan was a member of the 2013 Golden Valley Conference champion Lassen Community College team that finished 23-9 on the season, and ranked top 10 in the California Community College rankings.  McMahan, from Compton, California was a key part of coach Devin Aye’s stellar first recruiting class.  Coach Devin Aye took over a program in shambles that was coming off a 1 win season.  When hired in April 2012, Aye immediately hit the phones in hopes of changing the image of Lassen College basketball.  Mission accomplished, as his very first year as coach the Lassen Cougars shocked the state and became an immediate powerhouse.  McMahan was a key part of the team as a 6’1” point guard who helped lead the Cougars to a win over the defending state champs, and a trip to the 16 team Modesto JC basketball tournament championship for the first time in school history, and first place at the Chabot Classic.  Soon after the Cougars ran through conference play for the title and a playoff appearance and win over College of Sequoias on the way to the state Sweet 16.
McMahan had a solid freshman season while averaging 7 points, 3 assists, and 1.5 steals.  McMahan prepped at Leuzinger High School where he was awarded all-conference while averaging 17 points a game.  McMahan was getting attention from universities all over the country, but chose to stay in California and play in the PacWest Conference.  According to coach Aye, “Marshawn is a great young man. He was liked on campus by students and faculty, and we are all very proud of him.  He has great athleticism, and is well respected in southern California for his ability.  His best basketball is still ahead of him and his Cougar family looks forward to following his progress at Academy of Arts University.”

Leo Smith staying in Cali - UPDATE

Leo Smith signed with Casper College after a stellar career at Oakland Tech High School.  He was then released from his letter-of-intent allowing him to sign with any other National Junior College.  The word is that he is going to join a Bay Area junior college for this upcoming season and stay relatively close to home.  Since I don't have any article or tweet to confirm the particular school I will just mention that those that enjoy watching this true point guard in action can see more this upcoming season without traveling to Wyoming to do so.   It is looking like the caliber of talent filling the California junior college rosters is higher than last year, and looking like it will be an exciting and competitive season for 2013-14!
UPDATE-
Confirmed via Kevin McCarthy, Leo Smith is committed to San Jose City College.   We wanted to have a confirmation before we speculated and spread false information.  Thanks Mr. McCarthy for verifying these details.
