Coach Tyson Aye's 2014-15 season outlook at Allan Hancock

2nd season under Coach Tyson Aye is shaping up to be a breakout year for the Bulldogs!

The 2014-2015 season looks to be a promising one for Allan Hancock College and 2nd year head coach Tyson Aye. The Bulldogs are looking to improve on a 16-14 record. The Bulldogs were ranked as high as 13th in the state last year.  Allan Hancock was able to orchestrate a 3-game win streak to conclude the regular season and propel them into the playoffs.
The Bulldogs look to pack the arena in 2014-15
Returning for the Bulldogs is starting Freshman point guard Andre Miller (Serra HS/San Mateo, CA) who led the conference in assists and finished 8th in the state at 5.4 per game.
Andre Miller led the conference in assists as freshman
Miller returns along with sophomore Kadeem Minor (7.4 PPG, 3.1 APG) who started 24 games as a freshman. Joining the mix will be a couple of impact transfers.  Lawrence Johnson a 6’1 guard (Notre Dame Prep/ Rochester, NY), transfers from NCAA Division 1 Niagara University.  In the frontcourt should receive a huge boost from Alioune Tew, an athletic, 6’9 forward  (Paris, France) transfer from Utah State University-Eastern Utah, who could be one of the top Juco big man in California this upcoming season.

I am sure that Tew will make his presence known quickly in California, but I have included a highlight from his freshman season below.   With a great returning group and already solid recruiting class, the Bulldogs should make some noise in 2014-15.  Coach Tyson Aye & company were recently featured on Signal The Light Basketball in another article highlighting the growing excitement in the Hancock community.   Just make sure you get to Santa Maria early for those home games, as the word is spreading fast in the Central Coast that Allan Hancock will be the best show in town.

Marquis Godfrey has made his decision on where to attend school next year.  He has signed his letter of intent to New Mexico Military Institute, a National Junior College.  Godfrey, was highly recruited by Northern California junior colleges after his commitment to Loyola Marymount changed.  The athletic 6'8 forward will be one to follow on the NJCAA circuit.

Chris O'Neill (Foothill High) is headed to Snow College in Utah

There has been a Chris O'Neill sighting.  After going on his mission for the past two years, O'Neill is back and ready to pursue his college basketball ambitions. Highly sought after by local California Junior Colleges, O'Neill has decided to attend school at Snow College in Utah for his Junior College career.  His letter of intent was signed on 6-13-14.  You can check out some of his prep highlights in the video above.
